OUR HISTORY
From Vision to Action Legacy of Change Better Nepal
In 2018, a vision for a brighter Nepal sparked a movement. Dr. Mala Kharel, Ph.D., a renowned socialist, laid the foundation for Better Nepal, driven by a deep-seated commitment to social justice and equality. From its humble beginnings in Kathmandu Municipality – 9, this non-profit organization has blossomed into a beacon of hope, empowering communities and illuminating pathways towards a better future.
Better Nepal has rapidly evolved into a formidable force for positive change. From our headquarters in Kathmandu Municipality – 9, Kathmandu, Pashupati Pinglastan, we embarked on a mission to uplift the underprivileged. Registered with the Kathmandu Chief District Office and affiliated with the Social Welfare Council, our journey began with a fervent commitment to address the pressing issues facing our society. We initiated impactful programs, providing scholarships for street and impoverished children, empowering women, and fostering environmental conservation. Over the years, our efforts have expanded to include diverse initiatives, from combating women violence to coordinating with local governments and NGOs for sustainable development goals. Our unwavering dedication has earned us the trust of the community, solidifying our position as a catalyst for positive societal transformation.
As we celebrate our history, we look ahead with a vision of continual growth and impact. From disaster reduction and mitigation activities to HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C control, our comprehensive approach reflects our holistic commitment to the well-being of the people we serve. Better Nepal stands at the intersection of compassion and action, with a history rooted in empowerment and a future dedicated to creating lasting change in the lives of those we touch.
